eggbeaters

A couple Millers Falls eggbeater drills I have restored. They've been taken apart, degreased, cleaned, and oiled. The chucks have been rebuilt, including making some new springs from guitar strings. They now work very smoothly. I would love to repaint them. These are a ton of fun to use and I actually look forward to needing to bore holes. Even the smell of their oil is appealing.

  2. Phul, they are among my very favorite hand tools. We had one around the house when I was a kid and I always loved it. Now its a real pleasure to put them to real use.

  3. Thank you so much for the idea of using guitar string as a spring. I have a similar drill and this is just the trick to get it working again.

  4. You did a great job restoring them. I have found a good many Goodall Pratt and Millers Falls hand drills at garage sales. I have not restored any of them but they all work and most of them still have the original drills.

take a look at my picture of hand drills, Millers Falls Hand Drills

    thanks,
